For anyone who likes to earn their bargains, Arab Street is the perfect place to practice your negotiation skills and grab yourself some great value textiles, leathers, baskets and perfumes. The streets smell amazing, with delicious traditional Muslim food being served up on almost every corner.

During your time in Arab Street, make sure you take a trip to the Sultan Mosque, the largest on the island. Its impressive architecture has made it one of Singapore’s landmarks and it is easy to see why.

The vibrant colours of all of the goods for sale in the Arab quarter will delight any amateur photographers out there and will stick in your memory long after you have left the districts. The rows and rows of Persian carpets in the textile shops are really something, but you are unlikely to be able to stop and take them in quietly, rest assured there will be someone desperate to make a sale and offering you all sorts of products you never wanted.
